This year, Coop­er­a­tion Week runs from Octo­ber 13 to 19 under the theme “The COOP Effect: It’s Entre­pre­neur­ship Done Dif­fer­ent­ly!” The 2024 edi­tion aims to inspire Que­be­cers to choose an entre­pre­neur­ial path that dif­fers from tra­di­tion­al mod­els. For some, entre­pre­neur­ship done dif­fer­ent­ly means opt­ing for a demo­c­ra­t­ic process: One mem­ber = one vote. Pow­er is shared among all mem­bers, flat­ten­ing hier­ar­chies. For oth­ers, it’s about val­ues like sol­i­dar­i­ty, trans­paren­cy, and com­mu­ni­ty com­mit­ment. Coop­er­a­tives pri­or­i­tize peo­ple over profit.
