In order to illustrate what the social and solidarity economy (SSE) is, the Chantier de l'économie sociale, in partnership with the Centre de la francophonie des Amériques, has developed two capsules.

The celebration of Social and Solidarity Economy Month makes it possible to reflect the Quebec reality in this area. From the manufacturing sector to information technology, media and agri-food, Quebec's social economy is divided into 20 different economic sectors. There are 7,000 businesses, cooperatives and NPOs that account for more than 150,000 jobs. The social economy in Quebec generates more than 17 billion dollars annually, which is equivalent to almost 8% of the GDP of the province of Quebec*.
