In November 2025, SOCODEVI and the Conseil québécois de la coopération et de la mutualité (CQCM) came together to celebrate their 40th and 85th anniversaries, respectively.

This commemorative evening aimed to highlight the economic and social impact of the cooperative model, while also recognizing the commitment of the individuals and organizations that contribute, on a daily basis, to the vitality of more prosperous, supportive, and resilient communities.

A first video looks back at the history and founding of the two organizations, both born from a shared desire to combat poverty and social isolation in Québec. It traces the creation of the Conseil supérieur de la coopération in 1940—later becoming the CQCM in 2006—as well as the founding of SOCODEVI in 1985 by six Québec-based cooperatives and mutuals.

A second video highlights the structuring role of cooperatives and mutuals in building a more equitable and sustainable society. It emphasizes the work of the CQCM at the heart of Québec’s cooperative and mutualist movement, as well as that of SOCODEVI, which helps promote cooperative values and Québec expertise on an international scale.
