On May 14 and 15, 2025, the Social Economy Summit was held in Montréal. The event brought together stakeholders from the economic, cultural, environmental, political, community, and research sectors. Speaking with one voice, they emphasized that in the face of an unchanged economic model that continues to generate social and environmental crises, the social economy stands out as an essential path forward.

Driven by communities and guided by collective well-being, the social economy provides the foundations needed to build an economy that truly serves society, while respecting the planet’s limits.

The social economy thus offers a model that reflects who we are and brings us together. It already exists—and we are determined to help it grow. Together, we affirm our commitment to an economy that works in our favor.
